Founders Circle Q&A Recap
Here is a recap of questions the community asked during our last Community Hangout X Spaces.
Q1: What is the HandlPay Founders Circle?
A: The HandlPay Founders Circle is a private group of high-conviction holders who share our vision and want to actively contribute to HandlPay’s long-term success.
Think of it as a community-powered advisory board for HandlPay. Similar to how an early-stage startup brings advisors, investors and industry experts together with its founders. The Founders Circle gives committed members a direct channel to the core team to share feedback, expertise, connections, and ideas that can help shape the product, growth strategy, and $HANDL ecosystem.
Membership requires locking $HANDL on Base as a demonstration of long-term commitment.
Members get:
- Private Telegram group with the core team
- Direct input on product, growth and marketing
- Quarterly strategy calls
- Product previews and beta access
- Opportunities to contribute expertise, introductions and partnerships
- Founders Circle badge on X (on request)
- Additional benefits as the program evolves
The Founders Circle also creates a more transparent and fair structure for access to the team. Instead of only certain individual large holders receiving privileged one-on-one access, important discussions and engagement with the founders take place within the Circle.
This is not a traditional stake-and-earn program. It is a long-term commitment and participation program designed to align the people building HandlPay with the holders who have the strongest conviction in its success.
As HandlPay reaches defined traction and valuation milestones, Founders Circle members may also become eligible for monetary rewards, aligning incentives around one objective: helping HandlPay and $HANDL grow together.
Q2: Could you give that explanation again about staking versus yield, people assumed staking equals yield?
A: Staking does not imply yield by default. You stake for a purpose. In this case, it's for access and toward a goal with a reward share in the future. It's not the "stake and earn" of past crypto cycles that created artificial demand.
Remember, $HANDL is not a security token, a guaranteed stake-X-earn-Y structure would classify it as a security and complicate exchange listings and off-ramp partnerships. Instead, there will be milestone-based staking programs (e.g., rewards unlocking at $10/15/20 million valuation milestones on CoinGecko).
Q3: Is there any referral mechanism for bringing people into the program?
A: No referral program exists for the Founders Circle right now, but you can DM the team with evidence of people you've brought in and they'll consider rewarding it case by case.
Referral programs are coming as part of HandlePay 2.0 for user onboarding, but the Founders Circle is a personal investment-philosophy decision that shouldn't be actively sold or marketed.
Q4: If the Founders Circle succeeds in creating a highly aligned community, could it turn into an advisory board or even have formal voting power?
A: Yes, the advisory board idea is pretty much what the Founders Circle already is. Where it goes and how we formalize positions depends on the industry: if security-token regulation matures in the next couple of years, the stakes could even convert into an equity allocation on the cap table, which other projects are working on.
Q5: What security measures protect members' personal information, funds, and transactions, and how would incidents be handled?
A: The staking contract is fully audited. The flow: go to handlepay.com/token, scroll to the Founders Circle staking section, which takes you to the staking site (Base network only). You connect your wallet, approve the transaction, and once staked, you get a link to the Telegram group. The contract matches your wallet address to your Telegram handle, valid as long as the amount stays staked. Privacy isn't an issue because no one enters their name anywhere; the only thing needed is a Telegram username to verify membership.
Q6: What's the best way for members to participate once inside the private group?
A: Ask questions and give feedback. This is your opportunity to contribute with your network, community building, connections to other projects, and early-stage/advisory input, especially heading into HandlePay 2.0.
Q7: How can people participate?
A: Head to https://www.handlpay.com/token and scroll to the bottom to access the staking page. The requirement is staking and locking 3 million $HANDL for 12 months. Access is automatic, there is no additional approval/whitelist step.
